Jessica Azani is an experienced educator and leader in writing instruction and educational equity, currently serving as Chief Program Officer and Managing Director of Program at Teaching Lab. With a focus on culturally-responsive learning experiences, Jessica oversees the development of high-impact curricula. Previously, as Senior Director of the Writing Pathways Initiative, Jessica collaborated with researchers and educators to create a coherent progression of writing skills for national classroom use. Jessica's extensive background includes roles as Director of Research and Instruction at Quill.org, Senior Faculty at The Writing Revolution, and leadership positions in literacy at Success Academy Charter Schools, KIPP NYC, and as a founding teacher with Teach for America. Jessica holds a Master of Education in Public School Building Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master's in Special Education from Hunter College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Harvard University.
