Alexis Harris

Alexis Harris possesses extensive experience in the education sector, currently serving as a Certified CLASS Pre-K Observer at Teachstone since October 2023. Previously, Alexis has held key roles at the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) since July 2016, including Manager of Math and Science and Secondary and Elementary Mathematics and Science Instructional Coach. Prior experience includes serving as a Secondary and Elementary ELA Instructional Specialist for DC Public Charter Schools from July 2009 to July 2016, alongside a role as a Teacher Development Coach with TNTP Teaching Fellows in 2015. Alexis participated as a fellow with Leading Educators from 2013 to 2015 and worked as a Political Organizer/Organizer Supervisor with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now from May 2007 to July 2009. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Howard University (2013) and dual Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and English from Lincoln University (2006).
