Jodie Simon

Director, Program Research at TeachTown

Jodie Simon, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Program Research at TeachTown. Dr. Simon has been researching and evaluating new and existing educational programs and services in public school settings for the past 16 years. She received her doctorate degree in the area of cognitive neuropsychology at the University of Denver and received a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in cognitive neuroscience.

Jodie designed and conducted the language assessment component on the “Neurocognitive, Physical, and Emotional Phenotype of Females with Fragile X Syndrome Study” with Drs. Randi Hagerman and Bruce Pennington at The Children’s Hospital. Subsequently, she was Principal Investigator of “Analyzing the Language Profile in Fragile X Syndrome and Autism Study”, a nationally funded grant. Her career in research psychology has focused on characterizing the cognitive processes that underlie language and social communication behaviors in developmental disorders. She has extensive experience in neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis with both children and adults.

Prior to joining TeachTown, Dr. Simon worked at the Cambium Learning Group for 10 years where she developed educational program assessment systems and was co-investigator for “Colleague in the Classroom” and evaluator for “Language Essentials for Teaching Reading and Spelling”, two nationally funded research and development projects.
