Alex Millie has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. They started their career as a Mechanical Engineer at Acorn Product Development in 2005 and then moved on to work as a Senior Engineer at frog design from 2006 to 2008. At Jawbone, Alex worked as a Senior Engineer and contributed to the design and manufacturing of products like Jawbone Icon, Era, Jambox, and Up.
In 2010, Alex joined OpenPeak as a Senior Mechanical Engineer before transitioning to Lunar Design as an Independent Contractor from 2012 to 2013. They then joined Samsung's San Francisco design studio as a Lead Mechanical Engineer in 2013, where they led the mechanical engineering efforts and played a significant role in developing products like Gear Fit, Gear S, Level Audio, Gear Circle, and others.
From 2015 to 2022, Alex worked at Compology, initially as Director of Mechanical Engineering and later as the Director of Hardware. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering and hardware development.
In 2021, Alex became the Chief Technology Officer at Fairway Bikes, contributing their expertise to the company's technology strategy. They also worked concurrently as an Independent Contractor at Teal Health, Shaper Tools, and Compology from 2022 to 2023. Currently, Alex holds the position of Head of Operations and Hardware Engineering at Teal Health.
Alex Millie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, specializing in Design, from 1997 to 2001. Following this, Alex pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Design and Mechatronics at Stanford University from 2001 to 2002.
