Capen Brinkley

Capen Brinkley has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple companies and roles.

Capen began their career at Hewlett-Packard in 1997 as a Test Operator, where they worked on the development of format printers, ran test suites for engineers, and edited and modified test suites written in C.

In 1998, they joined Unistar Insurance as a Systems Administrator, responsible for managing and maintaining systems and networks. Capen stayed with the company until 2000.

Next, Capen joined IslandData in 2000 as a Systems Admin, where they continued to handle system administration tasks. Capen remained with the company until 2001.

In 2001, they started working at Intuit as a Network Operator, and quickly advanced to roles such as Network Operations Lead, Systems Engineer, Sr. Systems Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, Systems Manager, and eventually Senior Software Engineer. During their time at Intuit, they played various roles in network operations, system engineering, and software development, demonstrating their versatility and adaptability.

In 2015, Capen joined Illumina as a Staff Cloud Systems Engineer, contributing to the development and management of cloud-based systems. However, their tenure at Illumina was short-lived, as they left in the same year.

Later in 2015, they joined Tealium as a Production Operations Manager, responsible for overseeing the company's production operations. Capen then transitioned to the role of DevOps Manager in 2016 before becoming a Cloud Architect in 2018. Currently, they hold the position of SRE Manager / Architect, demonstrating their expertise in system reliability engineering and architecture.

Overall, Capen Brinkley has amassed a wealth of experience in various roles, ranging from system administration to software engineering and cloud architecture.

Capen Brinkley earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration with a focus on Information Systems from San Diego State University. In addition to their degree, they hold several certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS). These include the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional obtained in June 2020, the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner obtained in April 2020, and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate obtained in April 2020.
