In their role as an advisor and board member for the Digital DC Technology Fund, Valerie Gaydos helped connect startups with the resources they need to be successful. Valerie was also instrumental in improving access to key information for investors and champions of high-growth companies. As a result of their work, the number of startup companies in the region increased, and job creation improved.
Prior to their work with the Digital DC Technology Fund, Ms. Gaydos served as the Director of the Accelerator for the Commercialization of Technology (ACT). In this role, they were responsible for identifying and developing new startups by finding and supporting new uses for technology originating from Federal labs and research institutions. Through their efforts, the ACT program improved access to funding, increased the number of start-up companies in the region, and created new jobs.
Ms. Gaydos has a long history of working with startups and small businesses. Valerie began their career as a business consultant, helping companies with strategic planning, marketing, and financial analysis. Valerie then transitioned into economic development, working with state and local governments on initiatives to support entrepreneurship and job creation.
Ms. Gaydos holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland.
Valerie Gaydos studied Russian Language and Economics at Dickinson College, followed by Sewickley Academy.
