Jimmy Brown has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jimmy began their career in 1990 as the Owner and Operator of Jim Dandy Services, which they operated for a decade. In 1993, they became the Vice President of Billing at A.R.R.M.S. Inc., where they worked until 1999. Jimmy then transitioned to the role of Network Administrator at Oats & Hudson from 1999 to 2006.

In 2006, Jimmy joined TeamLogic IT of Lafayette as a General Manager, overseeing the comprehensive computer-based services for managing information technology for small and medium-sized businesses. Jimmy held this position until 2008 when they became the Franchise Owner of TeamLogic IT. During their time at TeamLogic IT, Jimmy also served as the Chapter Web Coordinator, Chapter Membership Committee Coordinator, Chapter Vice-President, Chapter Secretary/Treasurer, and Chapter Mentor Coordinator at BNI - Vermilion Chapter from 2011 to 2019.

Furthermore, Jimmy worked as an NRA Certified Instructor and a Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit Instructor at Acadiana CHP Training, LLC, starting in 2019. Jimmy also served as an Area Ambassador at BNI Louisiana from 2007 to 2010 and held various roles at BNI - Vermilion Chapter, including Chapter Membership Committee, Chapter President, and Chapter Vice President from 2007 to 2010.

Jimmy Brown attended Comeaux High School from 1989 to 1993, where they completed their diploma in College Prep. From 1994 to 1996, they enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, specializing in Electrical Engineering with a Computer Option, although no degree was specified. Later, from 2003 to 2004, they attended Louisiana Technical College, acquiring an AAT degree in Network Specialist.
