Director Of Design Technology at TSP

Jason Nelson has a diverse work experience in the architecture and construction industry. Jason started their career as an Architectural Drafting Technician, working on various projects. Jason then transitioned into roles as a BIM Manager, Design Technology Leader, and Senior Architectural Technician at TSP Architects, where they focused on implementing technology and providing training for staff. Jason also managed design software, created and maintained standards, and conducted technology evaluations. Later, they joined Stone Group Architects Inc. as a Project Manager, BIM Manager, and IT Manager, where they focused on implementing new technology, supporting staff with tools and training, and managing hardware and software budgets. In addition, they co-founded the Sioux Empire Revit User's Group, promoting the use of Revit software in the construction industry. Jason also worked as an Adjunct Revit Instructor at Southeast Technical Institute. Prior to their career in architecture, they worked as a Construction Worker at Meehan Construction.

Jason Nelson earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Sioux Falls. Jason attended from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed an Associate's Degree in Architectural Engineering Design Technology from Southeast Tech, attending from 1995 to 1997. Jason also spent two years at South Dakota State University from 1993 to 1995, but they did not obtain a degree or declare a field of study there. In addition to their formal education, Jason Nelson obtained a certification as an Autodesk Revit Architecture Certified Professional from Autodesk in March 2012.
