Alan Sorkin is an experienced professional with a diverse background in both environmental education and finance. Currently serving as the Managing Director at Teatown Lake Reservation since May 2021, Sorkin leads initiatives focused on inspiring lifelong environmental stewardship within the community. Prior to this role, Sorkin held various significant positions at Barclays Investment Bank from September 2008 to December 2014, including Head of Institutional Client Group for Fixed Income and Equities, Global Head of Equities Client Strategy and Research Marketing, and Global Chief Operating Officer of Equities. Sorkin's extensive career also includes leadership roles at Lehman Brothers, where responsibilities spanned multiple operational and client-facing functions, as well as a Vice Presidency at American Express. Sorkin began their professional journey as a Captain in the US Army from 1982 to 1986. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS cum laude in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
