Katy Mckinney-Bock

Katy McKinney-Bock is a Senior Data Scientist at Tech Matters, focusing on Aselo, a cloud-based contact center system for global helplines, and contributing to initiatives that enhance data sharing agreements. Previously, as a Tech for Good Research Fellow at AppLing, LLC, Katy trained a research team in ethical practices for community-driven research. Katy's academic background includes roles as a Research Associate at Oregon Health & Science University, where machine learning was applied to clinical aphasiology, and Visiting Assistant Professor positions at Reed College and the University of Southern California, specializing in linguistics and psychology. Katy holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Southern California and a BHA in Music Performance and Hispanic Studies from Carnegie Mellon University. Additionally, Katy has a rich background in music performance as a freelance flutist and educator.
