Director, Senate Modernization Project at TechCongress

Leisel B. has an extensive work experience in various roles and organizations.

Leisel started working at RiceHadleyGates, LLC in 2009 as a Director/Senior Associate and continued until 2012. During this time, they also served as a Research Fellow at Stanford University from 2009 to 2015 and as a Senior Research Associate from 2008 to 2009.

In 2011, Leisel joined the Office of former Secretary Condoleezza Rice as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor. Leisel worked there until 2012.

Leisel then joined Palantir Technologies as Identity/Special Projects in 2012 and worked until 2013.

From 2013 to 2018, Leisel served as a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations.

In 2016, Leisel joined PwC as Global Strategy for Cybersecurity and Risk Lead and worked until 2019.

Leisel then worked as the Senior Fellow for Cybersecurity, Technology, and National Security for Senator Mark Warner in the United States Senate from 2019 to 2020.

In 2020, they became the Director for the Congressional Digital Service Pilot and Senior Fellow Select Committee on Modernization at the U.S. House of Representatives until 2021.

Following that, Leisel joined Harvard's Belfer Center as a Research Fellow for the Technology and Public Purpose Project in 2021.

Currently, Leisel works as the Director of the Senate Modernization Project at TechCongress starting in 2022.

Leisel B. began their education journey in 2004 at the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Public Policy, where they pursued a Masters of Public Policy (M.P.P.) degree with a focus on International Relations and Economics. Leisel successfully completed their studies in 2006. Later, in 2014, Leisel enrolled at the University of San Francisco School of Law for an undisclosed course, though the specific degree and field of study are unknown. Their time at this institution came to an end in 2015.
