Kayvan Ghaffari

Kayvan Ghaffari is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as Special Counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP since March 2025 and as an Advisor for a stealth fintech startup focused on AI-based B2C payments since September 2024. Ghaffari also contributes to the nonprofit Code to Inspire as an Advisory Board Member and is active in the TechGC community. Previously, Ghaffari held positions as General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs at Metaversal and MakersPlace, where the focus was on blockchain technology and digital art marketplaces, respectively. Prior experience includes roles as Counsel at Crowell & Moring LLP and an Intellectual Property Associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, with a foundational role as President and Founder of the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project's Loyola Law School Chapter. Ghaffari holds a J.D. from USC Gould School of Law and a BA in International Studies from UC San Diego.
