Marcel Valenta

Marcel Valenta serves as the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Risepoint since October 2020 and is a Charter Member of TechGC, an exclusive community for General Counsels. Prior roles include advisory positions at Outlier.org and Campuswire, as well as a directorship on the board of CogBooks. Marcel held the position of Head of Enterprise Development & General Counsel at ASU Enterprise Partners from August 2013 to May 2020, where responsibilities included establishing a corporate development function and leading investments in EdTech firms. Previous legal experience includes senior counsel roles at Hewlett-Packard and associate positions at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, and Baker & McKenzie. Marcel earned a Juris Doctor and Master of Laws from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and has a diverse educational background that includes studies at institutions such as Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the University of Cambridge.
