Minos Garofalakis is an accomplished academic and research professional with extensive experience in information management systems and computer engineering. Το Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης είναι ένα αμιγώς τεχνολογικό πανεπιστήμιο, με ξεκάθαρη αποστολή: να παράγει και να μεταδίδει γνώση στα επιστημονικά αντικείμενα που θεραπεύει, μέσω της έρευνας και της διδασκαλίας, να παρέχει υψηλού επιπέδου πανεπιστημιακή παιδεία και εκπαίδευση στους φοιτητές του και να συμβάλλει στη μόρφωσή τους ως υπεύθυνων πολιτών υψηλής επιστημονικής κατάρτισης. Επίσης, να προάγει την επιστήμη και τον πολιτισμό, να συμβάλλει στην ανάπτυξη της Χώρας και την πρόοδο της ελληνικής κοινωνίας και να συμμετέχει ενεργά στις εξελίξεις στο διεθνή πανεπιστημιακό χώρο και στο έργο της διεθνούς επιστημονικής κοινότητας για παραγωγή νέας γνώσης και αξιοποίησή της προς χάριν του ανθρώπου.
