Basilio Puente Varela has a diverse range of work experience in the field of naval architecture. Basilio currently holds the position of Head of Conceptual & Basic Design at TECHNO PRO HISPANIA S.L., a role they have held since 2022. Additionally, Basilio worked at VICUS DESARROLLOS TECNOLOGICOS S.L. as a Naval Architect in 2014, where they developed a ship electric load simulator for a project related to the analysis of ship thermal and electrical loads in ports.

Earlier in their career, they worked at NAVANTIA S.A. as a Naval Architect, primarily involved in the calculations and evaluations related to the construction of Australian LHD ships. Basilio also gained experience at TECNOR S.L. as a Naval Architect, where they performed stability calculations for various types of vessels.

Basilio Puente Varela completed their MSc (Hons) in Naval Architecture from Universidade da Coruña from 2002 to 2010.
