Matthias Ploeg is a Managing Partner at Technopolis Group in Amsterdam, co-leading the Dutch subsidiary with a focus on sales, business development, and internal innovation, while actively engaging in consultancy and research projects. With extensive experience in Africa, Matthias acts as Regional Coordinator, establishing an African hub and supporting science, innovation, and higher education initiatives for key clients including the African Development Bank and the World Bank. In addition to current assignments with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, Matthias serves as a Guest Researcher at Radboud University, concentrating on entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly in the context of sustainable development goals. Matthias holds a PhD in Economics/Innovation Studies from Radboud University, complemented by an MSc in Economics from Trinity College Dublin and a BA in Social Sciences from Utrecht University.
