Alicia Simmons

Alicia is a seasoned program manager with an extensive background in biomedical research and operations and plays a vital role in establishing and expanding the TechWerks Research and Development Capability. Alicia began her career supporting clinical and pre-clinical research within Department of Defense facilities at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) where she coordinated and managed resource utilization metrics, deliverables, and budgets of Phase 1 and 2 infectious disease clinical trials.

Currently, Alicia is the Project Manager for WRAIR’s Center for Military Psychiatry and Neurosciences (CMPN) where she supports the research of psychologists, statisticians, and other researchers in their efforts to develop evidence-based strategies to diagnose, prevent, and mitigate the psychological demands of war, continuous operations, and brain trauma associated with military service. Alicia is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with a Master’s degree in Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C
