Andrew Thrift

Andrew Thrift currently serves as Director of Sustainability, Risk & Decision Quality at Teck Resources Limited, a position held since September 2015. Responsibilities include leading risk management, sustainability integration, and mine closure execution within the Base Metals business unit, along with chairing advisory groups for major development projects. Previous roles at Teck involve managerial positions focused on business and resource planning, regulatory approvals, and environmental affairs. Andrew Thrift has also gained experience in project management and environmental sustainability through work with Galore Creek Mining Corporation and Terrane Metals Corp, among others. Educational credentials include both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
