Jim Canon

Jim Canon, P.Eng., is an accomplished engineering professional with significant experience in process control and automation systems. Currently serving as the Lead for Advanced Process Control and Automation Systems at Teck Resources Limited since June 2020, Jim leads a team focused on modernizing technologies at Red Dog Mine in Alaska. Prior to this role, Jim worked at Canadian Natural Resources Limited as the Lead Senior Automation and Process Control Engineer, where achievements included a 15% reduction in process control costs for over 600 well sites and numerous heavy oil production facilities. Earlier experiences include management of data protection for a global server environment at Mylan, deployment of advanced technologies at West Virginia University, and involvement in infrastructure design and IT consulting. Jim holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from West Virginia University.
