Sergio Diaz

Sergio Diaz is an accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in research and development, particularly in automated driving technologies. Serving as the Director de Proyectos at TECNALIA Research & Innovation since September 2018, Sergio Diaz focuses on advancing innovative projects in this field. Concurrently, at Universidad Simón Bolívar since September 1993, Sergio Diaz holds multiple roles, including Full Professor, Advisor for several engineering teams, Coordinator for the Specialization in Rotating Equipment, Head of the Machine Dynamics Laboratory, and Director of the Laboratory Unit. From September 1993 to September 2018, Sergio Diaz was President of FUNINDES-USB and played key roles in technical coordination and consultancy related to maintenance management systems. Sergio Diaz holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering specialized in Rotating Equipment from Universidad Simón Bolívar, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
