Jose Tamez-Pena is a seasoned professional in the field of medical imaging and engineering, currently serving as a Senior Researcher at TECNOLÓGICO DE MONTERREY since August 2008, where Jose developed the FRESA tool. Previously, Jose was the Founder and CTO of Qmetrics Technologies from June 2008 to August 2022, focusing on CiPAS software development and medical image analysis for clinical trials. Prior to that, Jose co-founded VirtualScopics, overseeing advanced image analysis technologies and part-820 compliant software development from December 2000 to December 2007. Their early career included roles as a Research Scientist and Research Assistant at the University of Rochester, and a Development Engineer at ITESM. Jose holds a Ph.D. in Medical Imaging - Engineering and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, along with a Master’s in Control Engineering and an Engineering degree in Physics from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
