Doreen Akune

Doreen Akune is an experienced operations and management professional with a diverse background in the media and banking industries. Currently serving as Manager of Hub Operations at TEGNA since July 2021, Doreen previously held the position of Director of Channel Management at Encompass Digital Media, Inc. from February 2019 to July 2021. Doreen's extensive experience at Discovery Channel from March 2005 to February 2019 included overseeing a cross-functional team in network operations for multiple national cable networks. Prior roles also include positions at Union Bank as a Customer Service Associate and Merchant/Full Service Teller, and at E! Networks as Director of Videotape and Closed Captioning. Doreen began a career in captioning at Caption Encoding, Inc. and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and Television from California State University, Los Angeles.
