Jeff Newman

Jeff Newman is an experienced human resources executive with a robust background in compensation and benefits across multiple industries. Currently serving as Chief Human Resources Officer at TEGNA since November 2013, Newman previously held the position of VP Total Rewards & HR Services. Prior to TEGNA, Newman was the EVP of Performance and Reward at HSBC from October 2008 to October 2013, where responsibilities included aligning US benefits design with health care reform. Newman also served as VP of Compensation & Benefits at GE Money from February 2000 to September 2008, overseeing global compensation for approximately 50,000 employees. Earlier roles included Compensation Consultant at Capital One and Compensation Manager at USF&G Insurance. Newman holds a BA in Management from Towson University, obtained in 1994.
