Ton de Weijer

Ton de Weijer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in innovation and research within the materials and environmental sectors. Currently serving as General Manager of the Brightlands Innovation Center at Teijin Limited since August 2016, Ton has been instrumental in establishing a Corporate Innovation Hub in Europe and leading the Environmental Solution Division, where responsibilities include strategic planning and promoting environmental initiatives. Previously, Ton held multiple leadership roles, including General Manager of the Materials Technology Center and Director of New Business at Teijin, as well as acting as Principal Scientist at Teijin Aramid. An accomplished researcher with a PhD in Chemistry from Radboud University, Ton has contributed to the development of advanced materials and sustainable solutions throughout a diverse career that began with positions at Akzo Nobel and involved significant management of mergers and acquisitions.
