Marianne Elliott currently serves as the Head of Engagement Urunga Tūtataki at the Te Kāhui Tika Tangata Human Rights Commission, focusing on advancing human rights in Aotearoa through dialogue and stakeholder engagement. Elliott has extensive experience in the human rights and digital democracy sectors, having held roles such as Board Member at Digital Action and Co-Director at The Workshop. Previously, Elliott contributed to the Digital Council for Aotearoa New Zealand, ActionStation, and Amnesty International New Zealand. With a strong background in policy development and advocacy, Elliott also worked as a Policy Advisor for Oxfam New Zealand and held a role with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan. Elliott holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Waikato.

Te Kāhui Tika Tangata Human Rights Commission is Aotearoa New Zealand's National Human Rights Institution. We were set up in 1977 and work under the Human Rights Act as an independent Crown entity funded by the government.
