Rick Steen's work experience includes a variety of roles in the oil and gas industry.
Rick began their career at Rubberatkins as a Quality Assurance Engineer in 1999.
In 2001, they joined IESL as a Project Engineer, where they were responsible for project work, marketing, and development of company products and services.
In 2004, Rick joined Schlumberger as an MWD/LWD Specialist, where they were responsible for pre-job planning and holding tours on MWD/LWD jobs offshore.
From 2005 to 2008, Rick worked at Baker Hughes as a Project Engineer Grade 9, managing Production Quest projects.
Rick then joined Weatherford in 2008, taking on various roles such as Project Engineer and Business Development Manager. Rick was responsible for managing projects, providing technical sales information globally, and creating business opportunities.
In 2015, Rick worked at Sulzer Wood as a Customer Support Manager, actively promoting sales and managing contracts.
Rick later joined Innovative Engineering Systems Limited in 2016 as a Business Development Manager, expanding the client base and creating revenue opportunities.
From 2017 to 2020, Rick worked at Olympus IMS as a Territory Manager for Scotland.
Most recently, Rick joined Cameron, a Schlumberger company, in 2020 as a Surface Operations Specialist, providing technical support and managing a service team.
In 2021, they joined Tele Radio Group as a Technical Sales Engineer for Scotland & Ireland.
Rick Steen attended Lossiemouth High School from 1989 to 1995, during which they studied a comprehensive curriculum including subjects such as Maths and Physics. Following their high school education, they enrolled at The Robert Gordon University of Aberdeen from 1995 to 1998, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Rick'scoursework covered various topics such as Mechanical Engineering Principles, Engineering Drawing and Design, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Mechanics. In September 1995, Rick obtained their BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Robert Gordons University. Additionally, they obtained certifications in UT PCN L2 Plate Tester (UT Thickness and laminations) from Array Training Limited in May 2017, and Eddy Current Inspection - PCN Level 1, also from Array Training Limited, in July 2017.
