Head, Billing Operations at Telekom Networks Malawi

Kenneth Mlaviwa has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Kenneth started their career in 2010 at Huawei Technologies as an Application & Software Engineer, where they administered and monitored prepaid billing and voucher systems. Kenneth also performed systems analysis, commissioning, and upgrading. In 2011, they joined Telekom Networks Malawi Limited as a Specialist in Prepaid Billing, where they integrated external systems to the prepaid billing platform, managed prepaid subscribers and reconciliations, and configured and managed prepaid tariffs. Kenneth progressed within the company to become the Manager of Prepaid Billing and then the Prepaid & Contract Billing Manager, overseeing the end-to-end billing operations for all products and services. In 2019, Kenneth was promoted to Senior Manager of Billing Operations, and in 2022, they assumed the role of Head of Billing Operations, advising executive management on new technologies and ensuring the effective day-to-day running of billing operations.

Kenneth Mlaviwa has a diverse education history that spans various fields and certifications. In 2005, they attended the New Horizons Computer Learning Center, where they earned a Diploma in Computer Engineering. This program focused on computer engineering principles and techniques. Following this, from 2006 to 2009, Kenneth attended The Malawi Polytechnic, where they obtained a Bsc in Business Information Systems. This degree encompassed various aspects of information technology and business systems. In 2012 and 2013, Kenneth attended Technobrain Malawi and became an Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) in Oracle DB management. This certification demonstrated their expertise in managing Oracle databases. In 2013, Kenneth pursued additional certifications. Kenneth completed a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) course at ISACA, specializing in systems audit. Furthermore, they attended Koenig and obtained the LPIC-1 Linux certification, focusing on OS management. The following year, in 2014, they attended GRAPA and became a Certified Revenue Assurance Practitioner, specializing in revenue assurance. Finally, in the same year, Kenneth completed a course in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) at Koenig, specializing in service delivery.
