Bart Catrysse has a strong background in software architecture and engineering for set-top boxes and customer premises equipment (CPE). Bart started their career at Telenet in 1999, where they worked as an IP network engineer, responsible for designing and delivering Telenet's first scalable IP backbone. Bart also worked as a home platform design engineer, where they were involved in the design and delivery of high-speed internet cable modems, WiFi and power line installations, and Voice over IP cable modems. In 2005, Catrysse became the Chief Engineer of iDTV STB at Telenet, responsible for middleware software and hardware engineering. Bart introduced new decoder types and advanced TV features to Telenet's customers.
In 2012, Catrysse joined Liberty Global as the CPE Architecture & Development Lead, where they oversaw complex multi-vendor CPE component integration and led a small internal architecture team. Bart played a key role in the design and development of the RDK1-based Horizon TV solution for Liberty Global, which was first deployed in UPC Poland. In 2016, Catrysse returned to Liberty Global as the Chief Architect of Video CPE Software and Upstreaming, leading teams responsible for the RDK software architecture and upstreaming.
Throughout their career, Catrysse has worked with leading partners and delivered software and hardware solutions for millions of customers across Europe.
Bart Catrysse's education history includes studying Economics at the University of Gent. Additionally, from 1995 to 1999, they pursued a Msc in Electronic Engineering at the Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende.
