Joshua Stern has held a variety of roles in the technology sector since 2006. Joshua began their career as an Information Technology Volunteer in Tanzania with the Peace Corps in 2006. In 2007, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Apture, Inc., which was later acquired by Google. From 2008 to 2010, they served as a Tech Specialist and Advisor for Community Forests International. During this same period, they were also a Senior Technology Advisor for the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology. In 2010, they became a Co-Founder of Envaya, East Africa's largest online network of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). In 2012, they began working as a Technology Advisor for US Senator Angus King, and also became CEO and Co-Founder of Telerivet.
Joshua Stern began their educational career at Brunswick High School, where they graduated with a diploma in 2002. Joshua then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Stanford University, which they completed in 2006.
