Ceng Mario Neri

Mario Neri, CEng has extensive work experience in the field of satellite telecommunications and regulatory affairs. Mario started their career at Eutelsat as a Monitoring Systems Engineer before moving to Inmarsat where they worked as a Spectrum Management Engineer and later as a Regulatory Affairs Engineer for the Global Xpress program. In these roles, they ensured compliance with regulatory frameworks and collaborated with stakeholders and government agencies. Mario then joined Ofcom as a Manager for International Satellite Frequency Coordination where they led a team responsible for satellite filings and played a significant role in the World Radiocommunication Conference. Currently, Mario is working at Telesat as the Director of Spectrum Strategy and Innovation, overseeing the company's strategy and innovation for spectrum and orbital resources, as well as representing Telesat in national and international fora. Mario also directs international coordination efforts for Telesat's planned Low-Earth Orbit satellite constellation. Mario's expertise in satellite telecommunications and regulation, as well as their leadership and coordination abilities, make him a valuable asset in the industry.

Mario Neri, CEng, holds a diverse education history spanning various fields. Mario completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Telecommunications Engineering at the Università di Pisa from 2002 to 2005. Following this, Mario pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Telecommunications Engineering at the same university, which they successfully obtained between 2005 and 2008.

In 2012, Mario embarked on a different educational path and enrolled at Bayes Business School, where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Finance and Investment. Mario completed this program in 2014.

Continuing their commitment to education, Mario decided to pursue another Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, this time in Aerospace Engineering. Mario is currently studying part-time at the Università di Pisa and has been since 2020.

In addition to their academic achievements, Mario Neri also holds the title of Chartered Engineer, which they obtained in November 2021. This certification was awarded to him by the Engineering Council.
