Senior Director, Global Public Policy, Strategic Accounts And Business Development at Telesat

Stephen Hampton has extensive work experience in the fields of public policy, government affairs, and strategic planning. Stephen began their career as a Legislative Assistant at the Parliament of Canada in 2013. Stephen then worked as a Government Relations/Campaigner for the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), where they focused on combating illegal wildlife trade. Hampton later joined Crestview Strategy as a Consultant, providing public affairs support to telecommunications and high-tech companies. Stephen also played a role in business development for the company. At TELUS, Hampton served as a Senior Project Manager, leading strategic planning and corporate strategy for regulatory affairs. Stephen played a key role in securing funding for internet connectivity and the company's successful application to create the Digital Supercluster. Currently, at Telesat, they hold the position of Senior Director, leading the Global Public Policy, Strategic Accounts, and Business Development team. Stephen has been instrumental in securing significant financial commitments and revenue for Telesat's low Earth orbit satellite constellation project, Telesat Lightspeed.

Stephen Hampton has a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Political Science from the University of Ottawa. The duration of their studies and any previous educational experiences are unknown.
