Senior Project Officer, Tenders Support Unit (tsu) at Telethon Kids Institute

Helen Monks has extensive work experience in various research and support roles. Helen has been a Senior Project Officer in the Tenders Support Unit at Telethon Kids Institute since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Research Officer in Health Promotion and Education Research (HPER) from August 2019 to August 2022. Helen also held the position of Senior Research Officer in HPER from January 2017 to December 2020. Before that, they worked as a Research Officer in HPER from June 2016 to December 2016.

Helen also has experience at Edith Cowan University, where they worked as a Sessional Marker from April 2016 to November 2016. Helen was also a SOAR Ambassador from February 2015 to April 2016, providing peer mentoring and facilitating workshops for Higher Degree by Research students.

From January 2010 to December 2014, Helen worked as a Senior Research Officer at Edith Cowan University. Helen also held the role of Sessional Marker from July 2013 to November 2013 and worked as a Research Assistant from August 2007 to December 2009. Prior to their role at the university, they volunteered at the Child Health Promotion Research Centre from January 2007 to July 2007.

Helen's early career includes a role as a Receptionist at the Department for Community Development from March 2007 to July 2007. Helen also worked as an APS Level 3 Officer at the Innovation & Technology Business Statistics Centre at the Australian Bureau of Statistics from January 2006 to November 2006.

Additionally, Helen has volunteered as an office volunteer at Save the Children Australia from September 2005 to January 2006 and as a volunteer at Cancer Council WA from September 2005 to December 2005.

Helen Monks has a strong educational background in the field of public health. Helen began their academic journey in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, specializing in Psychology, from Edith Cowan University. Building upon this foundation, Helen pursued further education and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health with a focus on Health Promotion from the same institution in 2007-2008. Helen then completed a Master's Degree in Public Health from Edith Cowan University in 2009-2010. Helen's dedication to expanding their knowledge and expertise led their to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Health, which they successfully completed from Edith Cowan University in 2014-2017. Overall, Helen Monks has a comprehensive educational background in public health, with a specialization in health promotion.
