Maxine Gross has a diverse work experience that spans various organizations and roles. Maxine began their career as a Work Placement student at Brentwood Secondary College, where they worked with high school students accessing the wellbeing office. Maxine gained practical experience in maintaining professional values and ethics within a larger organization.

Maxine then pursued their education at RMIT University, completing a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) followed by a Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology) (Honours). During their time at RMIT, they also served as a Peer Mentor, helping integrate a first-year student with a disability into university.

Following their undergraduate studies, Maxine worked as a Research Assistant at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, assisting with a longitudinal cohort study on mental health outcomes. Maxine also volunteered at the Institute, transcribing recorded speech samples, writing plain language summaries of academic reports, and supporting data collection activities.

In 2018, Maxine completed a professional practice unit with Smiling Mind, where they assisted with a project on habit formation and mindfulness meditation. Maxine also served as the Treasurer of the Melbourne Population Health Student Association, managing financial transactions, submitting grants, and preparing financial reports.

Maxine then joined the University of Melbourne as a Research Assistant in the Population Mental Health group. Their responsibilities included assisting with a school-based mental health program evaluation and conducting data collection and management tasks. Maxine also pursued a Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne during this time, specializing in epidemiology, biostatistics, and global health.

Currently, Maxine is working as a Research Assistant at the Telethon Kids Institute, specifically within the Early Years Systems Evidence team. Their role involves providing evaluation support for programs aimed at improving children's lives in the early years. Maxine is currently involved in the Journey Together Initiative, a research partnership between the Telethon Kids Institute and Western Australian Aboriginal Medical and Community services, which aims to understand innovative approaches to respond to community needs in Aboriginal Medical Services.

Throughout their work experience, Maxine has demonstrated a strong passion for public health and population-level studies, utilizing their skills in research, data analysis, and project management to contribute to improving outcomes for children and adolescents.

Maxine Gross completed their education with a diverse background in various fields. Maxine began their academic journey in 2006 at Carey Baptist Grammar School, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate with a focus on Psychology, German, Biology, History, English, and Maths. Following their successful completion of high school, Maxine went on to attend RMIT University from 2012 to 2015. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology, specializing in the field of Social Sciences and Psychology. In 2015, they continued their academic pursuits at RMIT University and completed an Honours degree with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology. Maxine further expanded their knowledge and skills by enrolling at the University of Melbourne in 2017, where they pursued a Master's degree in Public Health.
