Melinda Edmunds

Program Manager - Ear Health at Telethon Kids Institute

Melinda Edmunds has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Melinda is currently working as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow and Sessional Academic at Curtin University, starting in 2023 and 2021 respectively. Melinda is also a Program Manager for Ear Health at Telethon Kids Institute since 2021.

Prior to their current roles, Melinda served as the Director of the Australian Health Promotion Association from 2016 onwards. Melinda also held the role of Co-Convenor for the 23rd National Australian Health Promotion Association Conference from 2015 to 2016.

In addition, Melinda worked as a Senior Coordinator at the Public Health Advocacy Institute of WA from 2015 to 2021. Melinda held leadership positions at the Australian Health Promotion Association (WA Branch), serving as the President from 2014 to 2017.

Melinda's previous experience also includes roles at Diabetes WA, where they worked as a Senior Project Officer, Prevention Project Coordinator, and Senior Health Promotion Officer from 2014 to 2015.

Melinda began their career at the Injury Control Council of WA, where they held various positions, including Coordinator and Project Officer for Injury Prevention Sector Development, and Project Officer and Project Assistant for Falls Prevention Programs from 2010 to 2014.

Melinda Edmunds started their education journey in 2007 at Curtin University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion. Melinda completed their studies in 2009. In 2017, Melinda enrolled in Inspire Education to obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110). As for additional certifications, in September 2020, they obtained a certification in Effective Listening from LinkedIn. In May 2023, Melinda earned a certification titled "The Future of Leadership: Disruption, Globalisation & Thinking like a Futurist" from OpenLearning Limited.
