Omar Elaskalani

Postdoctoral Scientist at Telethon Kids Institute

Omar Elaskalani has a diverse work experience spanning various research and pharmaceutical roles. Omar is currently working as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Telethon Kids Institute since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at Ozgene from September 2020 to January 2021. Omar also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Perth Blood Institute, Murdoch University from January 2020 to December 2020.

Before joining Perth Blood Institute, Omar was a Research Assistant at Perth Blood Institute for a short period from July 2019 to December 2019. Omar also worked at Curtin University as a Researcher PHD Student from July 2015 to June 2019, and as a Research Assistant from June 2017 to November 2017.

Omar started their career as a Hospital Pharmacist at Fever Hospital from August 2012 to July 2013. Omar then worked as a Pharmacist at AL-DAWAA MEDICAL SERVICES CO. LTD (DMSCO) from January 2011 to May 2012. Prior to that, they were an MSc Student at the University of Salford from September 2013 to February 2015.

Overall, Omar Elaskalani has gained significant experience in research positions, particularly in the field of blood research, and has also worked as a pharmacist in hospital and medical service settings.

Omar Elaskalani's education history begins with their high school education at Military school, where they pursued a degree in Biology from the year 2000 to 2003. Omar then went on to Zagazig University from 2003 to 2008, where they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. After that, from 2009 to 2010, Omar pursued a Postgraduate diploma in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy at Ain Shams University. Moving forward, they joined The University of Salford and studied there from 2013 to 2015, earning a Master of Science degree in Drug Design. Lastly, Omar attended Curtin University from 2015 to 2019, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Sciences, General.
