Richard Guha

Richard Guha is a Strategy & Business Advisor at TellSpec. Prior to this, they were an Entrepreneur in Residence at Sacred Heart University from January 2020 to December 2021. In this role, they mentored CEOs of high growth companies in CT (over 500 to date), helping them achieve revenues and investment, many of which are potential or current investments by CI. About 20 of CI’s current portfolio are mentees, with a further 100+ being funded by other major investors.

Previously, Richard was with Connecticut Innovations (CI) as the leading source of financing and ongoing support for Connecticut's innovative, growing companies - one of the most active in the world. Through all these initiatives, CI has helped bring $4 billion in financing to Connecticut companies and created more than 26,000 jobs. www.ctinnovations.com.

Mentees have included companies in Enterprise Software, Tech Hardware, Biotech, Healthcare, Insuretech, Fintech, Consumer Packaged Goods, Beverages, Internet of Things, Retail technology, ECommerce, and many more (about 150 companies per Year). In addition, Richard mentors other companies through several other organizations, including universities, and alumni organizations. Sacred Heart University is one of the fastest growing private universities in the US, with an expanding focus on Business, Technology and Entrepreneurialism. Techstars' first academic program is housed at Sacred Heart.

Richard Guha's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, followed by a Master's degree in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science from the same school. Richard also has a degree in Fluid Mechanics from Blundell's School. Afterward, they attended Stouts Hill and St. Josephs College, Northpoint before eventually earning their certification from the International Executive Resources Group (IERG) in IERG Global Leaders - Fellow. Most recently, they have completed Harvard Law School Executive Education in Conflict Resolution & Negotiation and is currently certified by Battelle in Project Management.
