David Smith

David Smith's work experience includes various roles in different companies. David began their career in 1980 as a Vice President in Investment Banking at The Robinson-Humphrey Company. David then joined Alex Brown & Sons in 1983, where they served as the Head of Consumer M&A until 1996. From 1997 to 2000, David worked as an Adjunct Professor of Private Equity at Columbia University Graduate Business School. David then joined Raymond James & Associates, Inc in 1999 as the Managing Director and Head of the Consumer Group, a role they held until 2006. In 2007, David became the Senior Managing Director at Eureka Capital Markets, LLC until 2009. Following this, they worked as a Principal at David F. Smith & Co., LLC from 2010 to 2013. David then became the Managing Director at Geraty Investments from 2013 to 2014. David returned to David F. Smith & Co., LLC as the Managing Partner from January 2015 to October 2015 and later joined Telsey Advisory Group in November 2015 as a Managing Director. In 2017, David became a Board Member at Minnesota Opera, a position they held until July 2020.

David Smith completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature/Letters at Duke University from 1970 to 1974. David then pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance at The Wharton School from 1974 to 1978. During the same period, they also attended the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. In 2000, David obtained certifications in FINRA Series 7, 79, and 63 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
