Doug French

Doug French is currently the CFO at Telus. Doug has previous experience working as the Director of Finance at TELUS Mobility and as the Director - Financial Reporting at Clearnet.

At TELUS Mobility, Doug was responsible for financial reporting, taxation, disbursements, asset management, payment processing and internal audit. Doug was able to reduce the timing of the issuance of internal financial statements from 25 days to 5 days in 18 months, and then from 5 days to 3 days. Doug was also accountable for tracking, accounting and valuation of network and other capital assets, including setting policies and procedures for useful life determination, impairment assessments, asset safeguarding procedures and controls, and capitalization policies.

At Clearnet, Doug was responsible for all external reporting and support of significant transactions, including due diligence, financial integration and purchase price accounting of numerous acquisitions. Doug was also actively involved in raising more than $3 billion in 12 different offerings for the issuance of both debt and equity issues.

Doug French is a Chartered Accountant (CPA) and member of the Canadian and Ontario Institutes. Doug holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts, Commerce and Economics from the University of Toronto. Doug also attended Woburn CI.
