Samay Sharma

Samay Sharma's work experience begins in 2011 as a teaching assistant at IIIT Hyderabad, where they taught courses in ITWS II and Operating Systems. In 2012, Samay worked as a software engineering intern at Citus Data. Samay then returned to IIIT Hyderabad as a teaching assistant for Computer Programming in 2012 and for Artificial Intelligence in 2013. From 2013 to 2019, Samay held various roles at Citus Data, starting as a software engineer and progressing to solutions engineer and solutions engineering manager. At Citus Data, they focused on building and scaling the Citus extension for Postgres. In 2019, Samay joined Microsoft as a senior software engineering manager and later became a principal software engineering manager, leading the solutions engineering team for the Citus database extension and Azure Database services. Finally, in 2023, Samay joined Tembo as the Chief Technology Officer, where they work on developing a unified developer platform for data services.

Samay Sharma completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH) from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they attended Campion School in Bhopal for their Senior Secondary education from 2003 to 2009. In addition, Samay Sharma obtained two certifications in Cloud Computing Concepts from Coursera Verified Certificates in March 2015 and April 2015.
