Director Of Community Engagement at Temple Israel of Hollywood

Leia Grossman has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Leia currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement at Temple Israel of Hollywood. Prior to this, they worked at Avodah as a Placement Outreach Specialist, where they researched and performed outreach to non-profits in San Diego to assess their suitability as placement sites. Leia also represented Avodah, explained programmatic goals, and responded to inquiries from potential sites. Leia also worked at UN Women as a Program Coordinator, where they were responsible for monitoring and reporting on the organization's flagship program on equal opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Leia coordinated the community of practice and prepared donor reports and updates. In addition, Leia has worked as a Facilitator, Consultant, Policy Analyst, and Learning Associate at different times in their career. Leia has also worked at UNICEF, Universidad Tecnologica de Bolivar, The City Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, and Edith and Carl Marks Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst. Leia'sroles in these organizations included tasks such as workshop facilitation, curriculum development, counseling, and program management.

Leia Grossman holds a Master's Degree in Arts Integrated Human Rights Education from NYU Gallatin, which they earned from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they attended from 1998 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Leia has also obtained certifications in Human Resources from eCornell and Training of Trainers from the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC).
