Ben O'Harra

Ben O'Harra has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ben is currently working as a Technical Lead at Tempus Ex since November 2021. Prior to that, from September 2020 to October 2021, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Apptio Cloudability.

From November 2019 to September 2020, Ben worked as a Software Engineer II at Apptio. Before that, they were a Java Developer II at Netspend from October 2017 to May 2019. At Netspend, they mainly focused on server-side development for API-driven applications using Java and worked with technologies such as Spring, Cordova plugins, React, and JavaScript/Typescript.

Ben also has experience working at General Motors as a Software Developer from June 2015 to October 2017. Ben worked on a legacy Java-based web application, specializing in RESTful APIs and cybersecurity. Ben utilized Java frameworks such as Spring MVC, AngularJS, and JUnit testing.

Prior to their software engineering roles, Ben had internships at Northrop Grumman Corporation and Williams International. At Northrop Grumman, they were a Ground Mechanical Intern, responsible for analyzing and strengthening testing structures using SolidWorks Simulation. At Williams International, they worked as a Diffuser Cell Support Intern and as a Controls Engineering Intern, where they designed repair plans, developed manufacturing processes, and wrote flight code in C++.

Ben's early work experience includes roles such as a Package Handler at FedEx Ground, a Contract Installer at Alpha Graphics, and an Event Staff member at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Ben O'Harra obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, they obtained a certification in "LFD259: Kubernetes for Developers" from The Linux Foundation in August 2021.
