Rafi Pelossof

Rafi Pelossof is a Senior Director of AI at Tempus AI since December 2018, where responsibilities include creating innovative clinical tests and developing predictive AI algorithms for outcome prediction. Prior to this role, Rafi served as Director of Computational Oncology, focusing on hiring talent from machine learning, artificial intelligence, and related fields to tackle complex data challenges in cancer research. Rafi's experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center from January 2011 to December 2018 included management of the Colorectal lab and analysis of genomics from clinical trials. As a postdoctoral researcher, Rafi developed the Affinity Regression algorithm, published in Nature Biotechnology in 2015. Additional roles include a Machine Learning Consultant at OMEGA POINT and a PhD student at Columbia University, where Rafi earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science. Early career experience includes work as a Computer Vision Research Intern at MERL and founding Leecorp LLC.
