Ten Strands
Karen Cowe has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Karen worked at Ten Strands from 2013-2014 as an Associate Director, and then as the CEO from 2015 onwards. Karen served as the Chair of the Board of Directors at Open Up Resources from February 2020. In 2014, they became the Chair of the Board of Directors at Cognia. Karen joined 7th Generation Advisors in July 2020 as an Advisory Board Member. Karen has also been an Advisory Board Member at the Biomimicry Institute since September 2015. From 2012-2013, they worked as an Advisory Board Member at Friends of Environmental Education. Karen Cowe held multiple positions at Key Curriculum, starting as the Customer Services Manager in 1996 and eventually becoming the CEO from 2008-2012. Karen was also the Managing Director at Burlington Books from 1989-1996.
Karen Cowe attended York St. John University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business (Marketing) and Education (Honors). Karen then pursued further education at Saint Mary's College of California from 2001 to 2003 and earned an MBA (Honors) with a specialization in Business.
