Rob Heald

Rob Heald is a seasoned game designer with extensive experience in prestigious companies within the gaming industry. Currently serving as a Principal Game Designer at Tencent Games since June 2024, Rob previously held the position of Lead and Senior Game Designer at IO Interactive from December 2021 to June 2024, overseeing design systems for the upcoming 007: First Light. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Guerrilla from October 2007 to November 2021 as a Senior Game Designer, contributing to titles such as Horizon Forbidden West and Horizon Zero Dawn, where responsibilities included the design and implementation of complex gameplay mechanics and player weapons. Earlier roles included game design contributions at Sony Interactive Entertainment and collaborative work in game production at Small Rockets. Rob's early career also involved account management and copywriting at Interbrand. Educationally, Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford.
