Samantha Gorman has a wealth of experience in the fields of writing, art, and technology. Samantha has been an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University since 2020, a Lead Narrative/Writer Co-Game Director and Co-Founder at Tender Claws since 2014, a Research Assistant at The Alliance for Networking Visual Culture since 2014, an Adjunct Faculty at Rhode Island School of Design since 2010, a Resident at The MacDowell Colony since 2010, and a Center for Computer Visualization at Brown University since 2006. Samantha also holds a Ph.D. in Media Arts & Practice from USC school of Cinematic Arts, where they specialized in Expanded Textuality and Poetics, Digitally Mediated Performance, and Virtual Reality techniques and history.

Samantha Gorman completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature/Letters & Digital Media from Brown University between 2002 and 2006. Samantha then went on to pursue their Master of Fine Arts degree in Literature in New Media from the same university between 2008 and 2010. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Media Arts, Immersive Narrative from the University of Southern California between 2012 and 2017.
