Associate Director Of Sustainability at Tenderloin Neighborhood Development

Magdalena Szymanska is an accomplished sustainability professional with extensive experience in environmental stewardship. Currently serving as Associate Director of Sustainability at TNDC since April 2019, Magdalena leads initiatives focused on reducing energy and water consumption, enhancing waste diversion, and advancing electrification and decarbonization efforts. Prior roles include Sustainability Program Manager and Sustainability and Facilities Coordinator at Apex Systems, where Magdalena utilized GIS expertise to analyze data and improve project workflows. Additionally, experience includes an Energy Efficiency Fellowship at the San Francisco Department of the Environment and a long-term position as Assistant Principal and Teacher at PAEC: Polish Language School. Magdalena holds a Master of Science in Sustainability and Environmental Management from the University of Derby, along with degrees in Geography, Cartography, Global Studies, Liberal Arts, and Environmental Protection.
