Shirley Brown Alleyne is an accomplished education professional with extensive experience in cultural and community-based programs. Currently serving as Director of School and Teacher Programs at the Tenement Museum and an Adjunct Professor at Bank Street College of Education, Shirley has also played significant roles as a Manager of Education at the Center for Brooklyn History and Manager of Teaching and Learning at the Brooklyn Historical Society, overseeing multiple award-winning educational programs. With previous positions at the Apollo Theater Foundation and the New-York Historical Society, as well as leadership roles at A. C Gilbert's Discovery Village and The Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum, Shirley has consistently demonstrated a commitment to innovative educational practices and community engagement. Shirley holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in Museums from Bank Street College of Education and a Bachelor's in Secondary Education and Teaching from Niagara University.
