Director, Robotics, Electrification & Data at Tennant

Ajay Pai has extensive experience in engineering management and product development. Ajay started their career at Rudolph Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer, where they invented innovative inspection technologies. Ajay then served as the Software Engineering Manager and Product Group Owner, leading a team to develop and execute product roadmaps.

At Image Sensing Systems, Ajay was the Software Engineering Manager, overseeing a team and managing engineering projects for video and radar product lines.

Ajay then joined Boston Scientific as an Engineering Manager, where they managed multiple engineering teams supporting Operations and new product development efforts.

Ajay later moved to Honeywell, where they held various roles, including Engineering Manager, Interim Director of Engineering, and Senior Engineering Manager/Home Comfort Engineering Leader. Ajay was responsible for leading the engineering function and delivering innovative home comfort products.

Currently, Ajay is working at Tennant Company, first serving as the Senior Engineering Manager of Digital Systems Engineering. Ajay then became the Director of Engineering, Digital Systems Engineering, and is presently the Director of Robotics, Electrification & Data. In these roles, they lead R&D and technical product development efforts, develops business and technical roadmaps, and drives digital transformation initiatives.

Ajay Pai received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Management & Operations from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2002. Ajay completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Mumbai in 2000. Ajay graduated from St. Xavier's High School in 1994. In terms of certifications, Ajay earned a certification in "Digital Transformation: From AI and IoT to Cloud, Blockchain and Cybersecurity" from MIT Professional Education in 2020, and a certification in "Cloud Architecture: Core Concepts" from LinkedIn in 2018.
