Amanda Sheaffer currently serves as the TEIS Senior Director of Strategy & Operations at the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging, where leadership of the Data & Operations team includes developing strategic solutions to enhance agency operations and outcomes. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Associate and Adjunct Faculty at Vanderbilt Peabody College, focusing on teaching and supervising preservice teachers, and serving as a Doctoral Research Assistant, conducting school-based research. Amanda also worked at LiveSchool, managing grant-funded research and developing educational technology supports. Amanda's early career as a General Education Teacher with Metro Nashville Public Schools involved teaching across multiple grade levels and co-teaching in inclusive settings. Education credentials include a Ph.D. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Trevecca Nazarene University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Western Kentucky University.
