Senior Vice President Of Radiation Oncology Services at Tennessee Oncology

Al Lawson has a vast and varied work experience in the field of Radiation Oncology. Al is currently working as the Senior Vice President of Radiation Oncology Services at Tennessee Oncology since September 2016. Prior to that, they were the Founder of Advanced Radiation Oncology Consulting LLC, a global sole proprietorship firm providing consulting services in the field of Radiation Oncology hardware and software sales, clinical management, and product development. Al also served as the Director of Particle Therapy and Director of Research Collaborations at Elekta, where they were responsible for strategic business development, research collaborations, and regulatory submissions. Before joining Elekta, Al Lawson held the position of Director of Collaborations at CMS, Inc., and later at Elekta, Software after the acquisition. Al also worked as the Administrative Director of Radiation Oncology at Florida Hospital and as Director of Clinical Systems Sales at Varian Medical Systems. Moreover, they have had significant academic experience as an Associate Professor at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Iowa.

Al Lawson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from the University at Buffalo from 1968 to 1972. Al went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Radiation Biology from the same university, specifically from the Department of Oral Biology within the School of Dentistry, completing their studies between 1972 and 1977.
